a Word from the Sheriff , May 2024 week 2

Every so often, the Lord addresses me, and allows me to do a reality check. Still, on I have reacted to the Lord’s voice, the Lord often place a burden on my heart to share that which he addressed in me.

Today, the Lord is asking whether we are still serving Him with a clear conscience. In turning to the Word, I came across several scriptures where Paul speaks of Himself serving the Lord with a clear conscience. Allow me to quote a few.

“Paul looked straight at the Council and said, “My fellow Israelites! My conscience is perfectly clear about the way in which I have lived before God to this very day.” (Acts 23:1)

“I give thanks to God, whom I serve with a clear conscience, as my ancestors did.” (2 Timothy 1:3)

“We are proud that our conscience assures us that our lives in this world, and especially our relations with you, have been ruled by God-given frankness and sincerity, by the power of God’s grace and not by human wisdom.” (2 Corinthians 1:12)
“I am speaking the truth; I belong to Christ, and I do not lie. My conscience, ruled by the Holy Spirit, also assures me that I am not lying.” (Romans 9:1)

Let us then take Pauls instruction to heart to keep our faith and a clear conscience for some people have not listened to their conscience and have made a ruin of their faith. (1 Timothy 1:19)

Heavenly Father, let our lives be pure and holy, sanctify us so that we we’ll be able to serve with a clear conscience. Let our lives be a living testimony before God and others. I pray this in Jesus name – Amen and Amen
